Honestly, it doesn't even mind that he's not giving her any details. It's not like Madoka needs them. Especially since with Ignis leaving said details out, she figures it's probably something really personal or really secret.. and she wouldn't want to be rude and dig into that!
Her smile grows a little wider, if not just to reassure him that it's fine.
"Of course that's no trouble. I should have enough points for it." And it's not like Madoka would dare ever spend those on herself to begin with.. "I talked to him already and he seemed really sweet, so I'm glad if I can help. Should we go get it now, papa..?"
He waited for questions and he had some answers ready but none came. So it was now up to him to get this thing going since nothing was forthcoming. Madoka's smile is reassuring and he nodded.
Apparently their meeting had gone well which gave Ignis hope that the pair would have a close relationship. "Alright, then let's get this order placed so that he can have an old friend return."
They walked over to the shop and set about getting carbuncle ordered for Noct.
She'll let Ignis use the machine to actually order, considering Madoka has no idea what exactly it is, but does make sure to insert her ticket first. She has enough points for just about anything in the store, so she at least isn't too worried about it.
Although what Ignis says does manage to get at least a little bit of curiosity from her.. She doesn't want to be nosy, but he can't just say 'friend' and then leave it at that! It's not as if you can order humans using the train shop, after all.
"It's more..of a good luck charm." the advisor replied, wanting to keep the secret of who carbuncle was and still not lie. Lying to his daughter was right out, and he would keep it that way.
But the two of them worked with the machine and the request was put in. Once that was achieved, Ignis hugged his daughter to him as a thank you.
A hug is more than satisfactory as a way of saying thanks! Madoka beams a smile once she's retrieved her ticket and gets the hug from her papa.
She really doesn't seem concerned about the points. Because it was a request from her papa, for one, but also since she knows they're going towards a good cause even without knowing the details.
"I hope he'll be happy with it! He was so nice to me, so I want to do nice things for him too."
"So he was nice to you..did the two of you have a wonderful conversation then?" Idly Ignis wondered if Madoka recalled that he'd told her that Noct was the one who granted the use of his summoning and unsummoning weapons ability. But he kept it quiet and waited patiently.
"He will be happy with it. And if you'd like, we can bring it to him together."
Madoka nods. She really did like the talk she had with Noct when he first showed up! Even though she kind of freaked out at one point.. or two.. but it's just since he was so nice that she didn't know how to deal with it.
"I'd like that." Bringing it to him together, that is. After all, she'll gladly take any excuse to hang out more with any of her uncles, they're fun. "U-Um, if that's okay though, of course! I wouldn't want to interrupt you guys' time together.."
It's obvious how close Ignis and Noct seem to be, after all. And she may be Ignis' daughter now, but it's still far from Madoka's nature to impolitely insert herself into everything.
Ignis smiled. She couldn't know it, but the fact that the boys had taken such a quick likening to her made him so very happy. "If it wasn't alright I wouldn't have offered darling." It was her thoughtfulness and consideration for others that made him smile here.
"I'm sure your Uncle Noct won't have an issue with you bringing his good luck charm to him. After all, you were the one kind enough to purchase it. And I will be the one to pay you back."
"Pay.." She repeats the word, before cutting herself off and instead quickly shaking her head.
"N-- No, it's okay! You don't have to pay me back at all, papa." Madoka knows she still has plenty of points left if there's something she really wants to buy. And most of the time she doesn't even like buying stuff for herself anyway. So it's much better in her opinion for Ignis to keep those points to himself. "You should instead just buy something nice for him too when you have the points for it..!"
Spoiling Noct is a much better goal than spoiling her!
He went to open his mouth in protest and after a moment just shut it. It wouldn't do to be ramming heads with Madoka while things were so bad with Tony. So Ignis just smiled. "Noct will soon be able to purchase his own parcels before long." Especially after participating in missions and the end of the month things..however that happened.
But all of them were givers and nothing quite made them a happy as doing for others.
They're definitely so very similar in that way. It's obvious enough that even Madoka herself kind of realises it.
So much so that - after the slightest moment of hesitation - she even manages to slightly tease him about it. Maybe it'll make him feel a tad better.
"I bet he won't be buying everything for himself even then." The implication being that she's sure Ignis will still buy him presents, of course. (And she can't blame him, Noct is so nice! How can anyone not want to be super nice to him?) It's said with a slight smile to show she's just teasing.
Ignis smiled at being 'caught' by his daughter. "Call it a lifelong habit. We were raised alongside each other after all." Here he was going to play that off but the truth was that he was going to spoil Noctis no matter what. "However, he may have to earn a few things by eating his vegetables."
Noct ate them at times but Ignis never called attention to it. However he would smile smugly whenever he saw the king eating things he hated without complaint.
That seems to make her pause. The smile turns into surprise. Sure, Madoka knows the importance of eating your vegetables and that kids often don't like to (she has a baby brother, after all!), but.. Noct is much older than her, surely he can eat his vegetables! Madoka does it too!
"Not unless you don't tell him they're in there." Ignis smiled. "It's..been a struggle." He says struggle but there's still a smile on the advisor's face. "But if I disguise them or sometimes hide them in plain sight I don't get fussed at."
There had been times of course where Noct just fussed so much Ignis took them on, which got him into trouble with Gladio. But even with the shield's growly face, Ignis still 'babied' Noct as the accusation went.
Madoka is just.. staring for a moment. Her brain is trying to wrap itself around this new fact! Because Noct had seemed so sweet and cool back when she spoke with him, and.. well, she guesses this won't change anything about that since he's just sweet either way! But still, the thought that he can't eat vegetables...
.. Maybe he just has a medical condition! Or a deepseated trauma! That's got to be it, Madoka's mind has decided as it ever tries to think as positively of other people as possible.
"That must be so tough for him.. I feel sorry for him."
Ignis is somehow surprised that his daughter comes to say that she feels sorry for the king. He had waited for her to laugh or somehow get it but she didn't..he thinks. "Maybe that is a thing you can teach him." After all, he was all about his daughter and best friend from back home spending time together.
So he just shakes his head with a smile. This should be a fun scene.
It's not shock over having to spend time with Noct. She would be all about that as well! No, there's something else about it that makes Madoka's eyes go wide.
"I.. um, d-do you really think it's right for me to do that? He's a king, after all..!" How could Madoka teach him how to eat vegetables, that feels so rude! Sure, Noct may pretty much be her uncle, but she's just a normal girl!
There was an amused smile. "Even kings are human and need to eat properly." Really though Madoka's expression is priceless and it's all Ignis can do not to laugh because she'd probably think he was laughing at her specifically.
"If you prefer, maybe you can just join us for dinner and you can sit next to him." There, that aught to serve as a good example for the king.
Now that suggestion seems a whole lot easier for Madoka's brain to take in. For a moment she still looks startled, as if it takes a moment for surprise that strong to fade, but then she slowly nods.
".. Okay, I think I can do that much.." All she has to do is just be an example, after all! She's not sure if she's a good example, but she'll try..! "You don't think he'll mind me sitting next to him, do you, papa?"
Ignis smiled at her hesitation. "No, I'm sure he'll be far more likely to make a place for you to sit right next to him." Gladio and Prompto would just have to take a back seat so to speak at the dinner table. The king and the advisor's daughter were growing close and that's all that he would want for the two of them.
Madoka would be a good influence as she had a lot of Ignis in her for not being his child by blood.
Clearly they just have to shame Noct into eating vegetables by showing him children more well-behaved than him when it comes to it. Like Madoka.
"Make a place.." She repeats the words as if she almost can't believe them. It's not a bad kind of surprise though - if anything, Madoka seems rather happy. A soft smile appears on her face. The thought that any of Ignis' nice friends from back home like her enough to do that for her is just nice. "I.. I'd really like that. Let's do it the next time we all eat together."
Naturally, and who better to do it than Ignis' daughter? Irony all around, including that with her being Tony's daughter as well.
This had him smile again. "Alright it's decided. We'll make sure you sit next to Noct, especially if we're having vegetables." Well this might be a new thing but it was worth a shot to try and get the king to eat properly. And if all worked according to plan, so much the better.
