[ From the moment the recording starts it's fairly obvious that there's a high degree of awkwardness here - it's easily readable from her expression (even if she's trying to put on a tiny smile as well), if not just from her tone. ]

Um.. I think I have to thank you for making me able to see this place and be here for a while, and.. p-please don't get me wrong, it seems like a really nice place! And these wings are even sort of cute too, so that's not the problem at all. It's just.. you see, if I don't get home in time for dinner I'm sure Mama and Papa will get really worried - especially Mama, if I wouldn't be home she wouldn't be happy at all and would probably throw a big fuss - and..

Sayaka-chan..

[ Her voice trails off as she seems to think of something and her mood dims instantly. The awkwardness that was in her tone earlier disappears and seems to be replaced by something a little more.. sad, perhaps, a softer tone. ]

So.. would it be okay for me to go back home, maybe..? To be honest, I'm not really sure why you picked me of all people to go here in the first place. I think I can't really do anything special like most people here probably can, so it would be okay for me to leave.. right?

[ A bit later one might find a young pink-haired girl sitting near the fountain, still wearing the sundress. She still looks quite lost and unsure and doesn't seem to understand everything just yet, but she seems to be distracting herself from her current situation for now by scribbling little drawings on her journal. Approach her? ]

[ When she notices it's just another person (even if it's a stranger), the surprise somewhat fades away though and is replaced with a more normal look, even if it's still slightly nervous. ]

Oh.. Um, good afternoon.

[ Lightning blinks, then inclines her head slightly as she turns toward her fully, an odd expression on her face. ]

Your dress... are you new?

Y-yes! I only just arrived here..

[ She laughs somewhat sheepishly. ] I'm not sure about the dress, but.. it was on me when I arrived here, so I thought I might as well wear it for now to not seem ungrateful.

[ ... Uh. What. ]

This isn't really the kind of place where it's worth being 'grateful' to the ones responsible. [ She looks over her shoulder, in the general direction of the nearest clothing 'store.' ] Besides, the rest of the clothing here is free too anyway.

... Ah, sorry.. I just thought-- ...

[ Her expression drops a little, wondering if she did something wrong. Then she scratches the back of her head awkwardly. ]

Eh? You really don't have to pay for anything here?

That's right. Only things off-limits are... those that already belong to someone else.

[ Everything's free, except their freedom. There's a very slight, bitter smile at that from Lightning- definitely not something that she likes at all. ]

I see.. [ She stares down at her journal, still a bit nervously, but when she looks up again she has put a tiny smile on her face. ]

I'm glad. [ A small giggle. ] I didn't bring any money, so I would be in trouble otherwise..

[ You're coming across kind of derpy there in Lightning's eyes, Madoka. Something else she doesn't like? People like you being trapped here. It shows. ]

How much have you been told about this place, anyway?

[ Well, Madoka is slightly derpy.. Especially when she's not a magical girl. ]

Um.. we were taken here and we can't go home. While we're here, time back home stands still or something like that, right..?

More or less. [ Not that she can really be completely sure what happens when people go home, but. ] What about the experiments?

[ ... Please tell her she doesn't have to be the one to break the bad news. ]

[ ... Yes, sorry Lightning. She seems completely clueless and it's oh so very easy to read off her face. ]

Eh..? Experiments..? What sort of experiments? ... On what?

[ Oh. That's just ... fantastic. ]

Pretty sure that as far as any of us know? That's the reason why we're all here.

[ Do not want, but Lightning's not one to veil the truth unless there's a very specific reason for it... so she might as well warn the girl. As she speaks, she crosses her arms, habitually shifting her weight so that her holstered gunblade audibly moves with her. ]

... Those guys in charge- they get a kick out of messing with us. About every thirty days or so.

[ ... Oh. This was something she wasn't told yet indeed. And the warning does have its effect, making her expression turn more and more unsure the more she thinks about it. ]

They brought us here to.. experiment on us? [ She pauses for a second, almost in disbelief. ] That can't be..

What sort of things happen during these experiments..?

[ Lightning just nods once, slowly and with her lips tight, watching the girl carefully as she speaks- it's hard to know what might affect someone more, when there's no telling what kind of world they came from in the first place. ]

It depends- sometimes it's just moving stuff around, sometimes it's more... invasive. Switching bodies, altering emotions...

[ Of course Madoka has already been pretty bad things before - a new friend's (and a senpai) head being bitten off, her good friend turning into a monster, her new friend dying while fighting said monster.. but new cruelty always manages to shock her all the same. ]

Messing around with people like that.. T-that's just not right.. [ She stares down at the ground, avoiding Lightning's gaze. ]

No, it's not. [ Her stare is no less steady even when it's not being returned, but her voice is a touch softer. ] But... in time, we will find a way out of this.

[ She gives a small nod - even if it's still somewhat hesitant. ]

If we could just all find a way out of this place together, that would be good then.. I don't want anyone to be left behind.
