[ The message left on the journals is a short one. After all, the message she's bringing is so upsetting to her that she can't really talk much about it. Heck, she can hardly speak up without her voice shaking, and she shouldn't show everyone how upset she is-- after all, it's better for people to not be stuck here, right? No matter how upsetting it might be, and no matter that a lot of people she knows have left already - leaving her all alone in her apartment in the end, even though she's lived with so many people over time. ]

... Um.. F-.. for those of you who knew Yui-chan-- .. Yui Konagi.. she went back home.

[ ... ]

There are some things l-left behind for people too, so.. hmm.

[ She can't even say this properly, can she? Instead she just closes the journal for a bit. ]

[He didn't really know this Yui Konagi, he only knew that she was Madoka's friend, a close one and that they lived together. Still he can't help to feel something inside him shake the moment he hears the message, a string is pulled, loud and clear. Is it because of Yui leaving to return to her world despite him not knowing her at all? Or is it because the person who's left behind this time and sends the message is Madoka? It may be both, whenever he has heard that people have left Luceti it dampened his mood a bit, just a tiny bitty bit, but it still did. He doesn't know why exactly, but maybe it's because he knows that the chances of those left behind meeting with them again are close to null, even if they are from the same place the memories of Luceti vanish, don't they? So it just won't be the same. This is probably what humans tend to feel about death, something absolute and impossible to stop that will tear apart the things you love until you have nothing left.

Still, he knows it's not that bad, nor death neither leaving. Even if re-encounters won't be the same there's still a chance for them happening be it in life or death, after all souls have to go somewhere when the bodies die. Maybe the Great Spirit isn't just a thing of his world, maybe it reaches to many other worlds and universes even if called differently and maybe inside of its vastness the people who met here can meet again. And even if not... So is life. Sometimes you meet people, sometimes you become apart from them, but at the same time they stay with you in someway, even if it's in memories and the growth they helped you to achieve. So even if hearing about people leaving makes him feel a bit sad, mostly for those that are left as they are the ones suffering the most, Yoh refuses to let it defeat him.

It will take much more than something small like that to make him truly sad. Unfortunately... Not everyone can be so optimistic and stubborn regarding their happiness. Madoka is one of them, even if she tries to put a strong front and even if she is also optimistic and hopeful, he doubts that she's truly fine. After all, as far as he knows, right now, she's alone in that apartment.

And Yoh knows well what it is to be alone even when there are people around you. He knows the kind of loneliness that is hidden behind a wide smile and an optimistic attitude. And Madoka wasn't even doing that much of a great job hiding it so... He leaves the journals alone, let others deal with the message that way. Instead he goes out of his house, Amidamaru in tail, and walks the distance to the bakery.

Minutes later, there's a knock at Madoka's door.]

Yui... left?

[The first time Ion hears the recording, he doesn't believe it. It takes another listen, and then a third time, before the words sink in enough for him to realize what he's hearing is actually true.]

[Just like that. Just like that, and someone else he cared about was gone. He may never see her again. And even if he did, the chance of her remembering the time they spent here in Luceti was already so low...]

[He doesn't know what to say. And if not for the obvious sorrow in Madoka's voice, the silence may have only continued to linger indefinitely. But as much as it hurts -- no, perhaps because it hurts too much to want to think about -- Ion finds himself instead focusing on Madoka. She and Yui had been roommates, after all. It always hurt more to be the one to open the door and find only an empty room staring back at you.]

She's... gone? [Gold's used to people leaving Luceti. It happens all the time. But it's been a while since one of his friends from Luceti's disappeared. A long while... He thought maybe things were stable now.

...It still sucked.]

[Oh she sounds so terribly sad.

Luke's not feeling totally better at all but it wouldn't be right to just leave a lady sad. That's not what a gentleman does!]

Um...are you all right, miss?

Y... Yui? [That Yui? The one who talked to him when he first wanted to know about Luceti? The one who offered to help him with his birthday party? He hasn't talked to her as much since then, but she... she is still a... a friend.] Her... h-her... too?

['... Dammit, I don't have to do this again, do I? I'm not sure my heartstrings can handle being tugged at like that!

...']

Hey, Madoka-chan.

... I'm really sorry, Madoka.

[First Homura, now Yui? This has to be really hard on her.]

Do you want someone to come over for a little while? Just so you don't have to be all by yourself.

...Are you sure?

[It's something she has to ask every time, even if the answer has always been "Yes." Because one day, it will all be a misunderstanding, and her friend will come back with smiles and laughter.

Maybe that day will be today.]

...I'm sorry,, Madoka. [Pao-Lin and Yui were definitely friends, but it seemed that Madoka and Yui were closer, from what she could tell.] If you ever need to talk to someone, you can talk to me if you want. [She doesn't know how much help she could be, but she should at least offer.]

[This... hurts, and knocks some of the wind out of Sanji's sails, effectively ruining what was otherwise a pretty good day. He stares forlornly at the journal before speaking up]

I'm sorry, Madoka-chan. [he'll think about what this means for him and the restaurant later, but for now he's just sorry]
