[ The message left on the journals is a short one. After all, the message she's bringing is so upsetting to her that she can't really talk much about it. Heck, she can hardly speak up without her voice shaking, and she shouldn't show everyone how upset she is-- after all, it's better for people to not be stuck here, right? No matter how upsetting it might be, and no matter that a lot of people she knows have left already - leaving her all alone in her apartment in the end, even though she's lived with so many people over time. ]

... Um.. F-.. for those of you who knew Yui-chan-- .. Yui Konagi.. she went back home.

[ ... ]

There are some things l-left behind for people too, so.. hmm.

[ She can't even say this properly, can she? Instead she just closes the journal for a bit. ]

Yui-chan and I have known each other for really long, yes.. p-practically since I first came here over a year ago.

.. And.. she lived with me too. A-after a lot of friends from my world left, she lived with me and Homura-chan.. but then Homura-chan left too, so it was just the two of us.

Then would you like a little company? Maybe we can go get something nice to eat at the bakery together.

[It won't make up for losing a friend, but that doesn't mean that Madoka needs to be alone, either.]

[ And just getting out in general - the apartment reminds her too much of Yui and feels so empty now she's gone. ]

A-as long as it isn't a bother, that is.

[Immediately:] Oh, no, of course not. I'd love to spend some time with you.

Then.. I-I'll come if you want me to, hehe. [ the laughter is a little forced though. ] Should we meet up at the bakery..?

That's a good idea. [...Provided Madoka is feeling patient and is willing to put up with Grune's glacial pace, anyway.] I'll see you soon, all right?

[ Madoka is always patient, honestly - she'd feel too bad leaving without fully waiting for the other person.. ]

H-hmm. I'll be waiting..!

[And off Grune goes. She only gets a little distracted on the way, which is quite good for her. And when she arrives in the bakery, when she sees Madoka inside, she actually remembers why she came. Today, she's on a roll.

She's also coming closer with the intent to give her a hug. Dodge or accept?]

Hello, Madoka.

[ As if Madoka would reject a hug.. besides, doing that might just be rude, so it's better to just accept, right? Even if it's a little passive on her side since she still feels so sad. ]

H-.. hello. .. Hmm, thank you for coming..

[The reactions to Grune's hugs range from extreme enthusiasm to terrified struggles, and she can never tell the difference between one and the other. So, well...Madoka's passivity doesn't particularly register.

She looks down at the girl and gives her a gentle smile.]

Oh, you don't need to thank me. I wanted to come.

[happyends]

You wanted it..? [ She seems a little surprised as she stares back. ] B-but.. why?

[lostinmyway]

Well, if we spend a little time together, then you won't be so lonely. And we can become a little closer, too. I'd like to be better friends with you, Madoka.

[happyends]

[ her face flushes faintly, as if she's flustered. ]

W-with me? Ah, but.. I'm nothing special, please don't have too high expectations..

[lostinmyway]

Oh, now that's not true at all. [There's a little more firmness than usual to Grune's voice now.]

You're a very kind person and I'm sure that we're going to have lots of fun together. You are something special, Madoka. You shouldn't say that you're not.

But.. I've always thought of myself as nothing but average, since I don't have any special abilities or anything.. compared to most other people, there's nothing I can do really well, and often I'm just a little clumsy too.

Even if that's true, what makes you special is you have a heart that's full of love. That's the most important thing of all.

[She and Yui made all those presents so everybody in the village would have one. That was a wonderfully kind and loving thing to do. Madoka couldn't possibly convince her otherwise.]
